New sewing machines!

So as you will know by now, I am running the London marathon for Let Them Help Themsleves- a community regeneration charity helping people in rural Uganda. The girls and women in these rural villages often cannot afford sanitary products as they are very expensive and the women are mostly in low paid work. LTHT is tackling this problem head on by setting up a system in which the women start making their own reusable sanitary products. This ensures that girls are still able to go to school without fear of being mocked because of visible bleeding. Some of the money that I have raised has bought 4 new sewing machines for the project! They cost £100 each and are invaluable to the women of Ruhanga who are working to provide sanitary products for local women and girls.
